Love Begins With Me
Self-love.
Loving yourself deeply and completely.
These are BIG, JUICY, AWESOME aspirations…. ideally, loving ourselves would be natural and non-negotiable, yet many of us struggle, on many levels. Our thoughts begin to chatter telling us that this is selfish, arrogant, ridiculous, a waste of time. When that inner talk starts we need to STOP, breathe and remember our true nature. Our pure, inner, beautiful nature. It is my belief that when we learn to love ourselves deeply, completely and in our wholeness (even the bits we have decided that we don’t like) we open the gates on our hearts and can then authentically love others. As has been said many times before, how can we truly love someone else if we haven’t filled ourselves up with self-love first? We end up depleted and often resentful.
In the biggest sense, I believe that if we all loved ourselves, truly loved up on our precious selves, then we could love others in a way that would make world peace inevitable – which would be pretty cool don’t you think? I think of us all as being whole parts of a greater whole, all of us being interconnected in a huge, lovely web of oneness. What impacts one of us has impact on another so loving up on ourselves could change the world!
