Feed Your Face. Natural Skincare
Our skin, our beautiful protective skin, is the largest organ of the body. As a registered nutritionist (see my qualifications) I have a passion for feeding myself well, I want my organs to function well and my body to be as strong and healthy as possible. About ten years ago I began to think about what I was putting on my skin, I started to read the ingredients lists on creams – it was like reading another language! So many chemicals, so much junk! It shocked me actually. I couldn’t believe I was rubbing that stuff into my skin so I began to investigate alternatives.
If I can’t eat the ingredients in a skincare product I don’t buy it
There are numerous 100% natural skincare products available now, they use plant ingredients and feel so, so good on the skin and they really work too. Natural cosmetics are also becoming easy to find, so even my makeup is edible!
As a stepping stone there are also many brands of skincare that are mostly natural and also free from the harshest chemicals. I’d say, give it a go, see how luxurious natural skincare feels.
For me, personally, I love the way the natural creams feel on my skin and I also like to know that I am treating myself well, loving my precious body, feeding my skin. It also warms my heart to know that I am not putting additional chemicals into the water-systems and the ecosystem. It simply FEELS GREAT to use these products, even thought some of them are a bit more expensive than non-natural products.
LOVE YOURSELF, LOVE YOUR SKIN….give natural skincare a try.
I love this website: http://www.naturisimo.com/ not all of the brands are 100% natural, but have a browse and see if anything catches your eye. They also have a great selection of sample sizes so you can give a variety of brands a try. I really love: Barefoot Botanicals, Suki, Madara, Living Nature and Melvita. There are many more that I cannot wait to try!!

Thanks for your comment Kay! Yours is my first official comment
I don’t use foundation at the moment but my tinted moisturiser is natural and I could totally eat it…if I really wanted to! xx

Woohoo I’m the first comment!
but I think the cure for that is more time outdoors, which is already the case…
I am suspicious that tinted moisturiser will not glamourise me to the required extent
Lots to think on for me from this post – I have done a lot of research to eliminate animal testing and products from all of my stuff (not just toiletries and make up) and am now moving into maintaining those principles *and* using more natural & eco friendly things.
